Monthly Celebrations

The world is rich with diversity, which is reflected in the observances celebrated by its various cultures and populations. Celebrating and providing 'Monthly Celebrations' will allow us to recognize key diverse initiatives and celebrate our campus community.

If you have a celebration, event or program you'd like to include on our website, please email us at

Upcoming Monthly Celebrations at Pitt:

  • October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month - Reflecting on the important role disability plays in workforce diversity.  Observed each October, it celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a diverse workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.

  • November is Military Appreciation Month and Veteran's Day Celebration - Pitt has designated November as Military Appreciation Month to ensure that the campus is given the opportunity to publicly demonstrate our appreciation for the sacrifices and successes made by our faculty, staff, and student service members.  We will also honor, celebrate and observe Veteran's Day on November 10, 2016.
